Kristen Stewart School of Make Up (KSSM), located in Christchurch, offers students an intensive Eight Week Diploma Course that makes sure attendees are work ready by the time of completion. With my name behind the students, I want to make sure you leave with the highest standard in technical and application skills as well as professionalism.
KSSM a Private Training Establishment. On completion of the course every student receives an industry recognised Diploma of Make-up Artistry, and depending on their level of ability, can be awarded varying levels of distinction. This Certificate is recognised throughout New Zealand, Australia and abroad. We are not an NZQA accredited school.
We also offer our students work experience whilst they are with us as well as help them with finding work on completion of the course.
Guest tutors will include other working make-up artists, hairstylists and photographers, such as Rianna Te Au Hairdressing and Stephen Goodenough. This expertise will expose students to meticulous skills in both technical and creative aspects.
KSSM is lucky enough to be sponsored by M·A·C Cosmetics. Diploma of Make-up Artistry students only need to bring themselves and an enthusiasm to learn, as Kristen Stewart School of Make-Up provides an excellent professional make-up kit supplied by M.A.C, that has everything needed to get students started. A professional hair-kit is also supplied, which includes a range of styling tools. Kristen Stewart School of Make-Up also has an extensive range of M.A.C Cosmetics make up and independent hair products at the school for the students use.
Students of the Diploma of Make-up Artistry may also have the opportunity to work with Portfolio Models & Talent Agency, assisting at their Teenage Workshop in the school holidays.
The workshop covers posture, grooming, hair and skin care, make-up application, nutrition, exercise, introduction to television castings, photo shoot and wardrobe coordination. Kristen Stewart School of Make Up students will be providing make-up application assistance and styling for the models.
KSSM works closely with New Zealand Fashion Week as an official partner. Our qualified students have the opportunity to become part of #teamkssm, working backstage at this prestigious event! We are the only school that is involved and have been attending since 2009. Last year, 2019, we did more shows than any other make up house and took our biggest team to date.
This is an intensive course providing future make-up artists with specific training to get ahead in their career in the fashion and photographic industry.
On the last week of the course you have a professional photo shoot with Stephen Goodenough and models from Portfolio to acquire pictures for your portfolio.
NB: If you are from outside the Christchurch area, we can help you find accomodation. We have many contacts/home stays that take students in for the duration of the course.
